Sunbelt is now seeking a passionate and skilled Special Education Case Manager to join our team for the upcoming  school year.

Job Summary

The Special Education Case Manager will oversee and coordinate services for students with special needs, ensuring they receive the necessary support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This role involves working closely with students, families, teachers, and related service providers to develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for students, parents, and school staff regarding special education services.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other educational professionals to ensure that students needs are met and IEP goals are achieved.
  • Coordinate and lead IEP meetings, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, making necessary adjustments to IEPs and support services as needed.
  • Provide guidance and support to families regarding special education processes and available resources.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student progress, services, and communication.
  • Stay current with state and federal regulations related to special education and ensure school practices are in alignment with these regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Special Education, Educational Psychology, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Valid California Special Education Teaching Credential or appropriate authorization.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in special education or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and California special education laws.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency in using educational software and tools for case management and documentation.
