Substitute Teacher K-12

SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

Qualifications:

• Valid Missouri substitute teacher certificate
• Criminal justice fingerprint and background clearance
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board and/or Superintendent may find appropriate

Building Principal

Required Performance and

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned
• Teaches lesson plan as outlined by the absent teacher
• Performs all extra duties for the absent teacher as required by the building principal
• Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated
• Can work in a technology-rich environment
• Teaches district approved curriculum and adhere to the adopted Board of Education policies
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with students, staff, and community
• Communicates clearly both verbally and in writing
• Organizes and prioritizes educator workload to best meet the needs of students
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning atmosphere
• Evaluates students' academic and social growth and keeps appropriate records of student learning
• Works well as a team member to serve all constituencies
• Remains at school during the entire school day unless excused by the principal or the designated representative
• Adheres to and follows all deadlines and requirements as presented by administration/state/federal law
• Attends all meetings as requested by building and district administration
• Maintains strict confidentiality as required by law
