Role SummaryAs a Middle School Career Exploration Teacher (Business certified), you will inspire and support students in reaching their academic and professional goals. You will deliver high‑quality, project‑based instruction that introduces students to 16 National Career Clusters. Working in a supportive, student‑centered environment, you will empower every scholar to develop a Personalized Learning Plan, master essential “soft skills,” and understand the financial and academic requirements of their dream careers.
Qualifications- Certified Professional: Valid Missouri Teaching Certification in Business Education (5‑9 or 9‑12).
- Degree Requirements: Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Dream Catalyst: Natural connector who can help a student see how their love for gaming, art, or helping others translates into a high‑demand career.

- Lead the Discovery: Design and lead engaging “Career Deep Dives” where students explore industries through virtual tours, guest speakers, and hands‑on simulations.
- Build Professionalism: Teach the “Success Skills” that never go out of style: time management, collaborative teamwork, professional communication, and digital etiquette.
- Financial Literacy: Integrate foundational business concepts like budgeting and “return on investment” (ROI) as they relate to different educational and career paths.
- Collaborate for Success: Partner with School Counselors and CTE Coordinators to ensure students are prepared for the transition to high school “Pathways” and specialized academies.
- Foster Agency: Help students build their first professional portfolios, including introductory resumes, “elevator pitches,” and goal‑setting frameworks.
- Lead the Discovery:

- Classification: Exempt, Certified Staff
- Work Year: 10‑Month Academic Calendar (187 Contract Days)
- Salary: Based on the Teacher Salary Schedule, determined by experience and education level ($43,000 to $71,946 per annum).
