Position Summary The Department of Social Work, in the JFK School of Psychology and Social Sciences at National University, invites applications for part‑time faculty in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of, or potential for excellence in, teaching in their field and a commitment to serving the University’s diverse adult student body. This position primarily works closely with the Academic Program Director and other faculty within the program and contributes to ensuring program quality, student engagement, and success.

Job Duties
  • Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
  • Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student‑centric learning environment.
  • Complete required tasks on deadlines (e.g., final grades, assessment, grading rubrics, input for grade appeals, etc.).
  • Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities, when applicable.
  • Provide feedback to the course lead regarding the course content.
  • Identify at‑risk students and collaborate with student services.
Qualifications Required
  • Doctorate degree with focus in Counseling and Supervision or related counseling field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Minimum two (2) years of direct teaching experience at the Master and/or Doctoral level.
  • Three plus (3+) years of professional and/or research experience in Educational Leadership.
  • Must have personal computer and ability to facilitate online instruction and communications remotely.
  • Graduate of CACREP‑approved program.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Research‑based, scholarly, peer‑reviewed journal article publications.
  • Curriculum development experience.
  • Experience guiding students through the dissertation process.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Experience working in a technology‑driven enterprise.
