$95 - $120 per day, depending on credentials.

Substitute Teachers provide direct instruction to students and maintain a positive learning environment during a teacher's absence. Responsibilities include following lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher, supervising students, and ensuring instructional continuity throughout the school day.

• Deliver instruction in accordance with the teacher's lesson plans.
• Create a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
• Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and student engagement.
• Supervise students at all times while maintaining appropriate classroom management.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with students, staff, parents, and community members.
• Maintain accurate classroom records and documentation as required by the building.
• Follow district policies, procedures, and building expectations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervising administrator.
• Assist with student supervision during school activities and emergency situations as needed.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Minimum of 60 college credit hours preferred.
• Per Missouri DESE requirements, individuals with at least 20 college credit hours may qualify by completing additional required training. If you have fewer than 60 college hours, please contact our Central Office 2 for more information.
• Valid Missouri DESE Substitute Teaching Certificate required (Missouri teaching certificate preferred).
• Successful completion of a Missouri State Highway Patrol/FBI fingerprint background check.

• Follow all Board of Education policies and district procedures.
• Maintain required certifications and professional competencies.
• Complete all required annual trainings.
• Demonstrate professionalism and uphold the values of the Gasconade County R-I School District.
