SUMMARY: Report directly to the Substitute Teacher/Leave Coordinator or building Principal. To provide temporary support for classroom teachers in case of teacher absence, in order to ensure continuity of instruction for students.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervise areas of specific responsibilities as they relate to the classroom or program setting.
• Follow established classroom routines as outlined by building principal and /or teacher lesson plans.
• Follow lesson plans provided by the teacher.
• Make every effort to continue the instructional program.

Minimum Education and Experience required:

Must meet one of the following requirements below to obtain your Substitute Certification from DESE (Department of Elementary and Secondary Education):

• 36 college credit hours
• OR Completion of Missouri's 20-hour online substitute training program
• Ability and personality to work with colleagues, teachers, and other staff
• Successful completion of a background check by Human Resources
