Music Teacher

Music & Arts seeks a passionate Music Teacher to provide private and group lessons in our retail store. In this role you'll teach beginner to intermediate students on band, orchestra, or popular instruments, create tailored lesson plans, prepare students for performances and school programs, and track progress. You'll collaborate with store staff and school reps to support rentals and accessories, maintain an encouraging, inclusive classroom, and communicate regularly with parents.

This position blends music education with retail support in a mission driven, student focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide private and small group music lessons to beginner and intermediate students
• Develop and follow individualized lesson plans aligned with student goals and school programs
• Prepare students for recitals, school performances, and auditions
• Assess and document student progress and adjust instruction as needed
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about progress and practice expectations
• Collaborate with store staff and school reps to support rentals, repairs, and accessories needs
• Maintain an inclusive, safe, and motivating learning environment in the lesson studio
• Incorporate music theory, technique, and ear training into instruction
• Use store systems to manage schedules, attendance, and student records
• Participate in occasional events, workshops, or outreach to promote music education
