Faculty Position in Computer Science

College of the Ozarks invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Computer Science

beginning in the Fall 2027 semester, though starting Spring 2027 may be possible. We seek a

student-centered, self-motivated, and versatile faculty member with strong teaching skills and a

demonstrated ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues. This position

will focus primarily on the continued development and stewardship of our new Data Science

and Artificial Intelligence program.

The Computer Science Department offers majors and minors in Computer Information Science,

Computer Science, and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, as well as a minor in

Cybersecurity and a range of general education courses.

Teaching responsibilities will include both lower- and upper-division courses in Computer

Science, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence. The successful candidate will also be expected

to maintain and develop course content and curriculum to ensure high-quality instruction and

ongoing alignment with academic standards and industry needs. The standard teaching load is

24 credit hours over a nine-month academic year.

College of the Ozarks is a distinctive liberal arts, work-study college of approximately 1,450

students, located in southwest Missouri near Branson. Deeply rooted in Christian faith and

service, the College is known for its close-knit community, strong mentoring culture, and

commitment to developing students academically, professionally, and spiritually. Class sizes are

intentionally small, typically 10 to 25 students in STEM courses, allowing faculty to build

meaningful relationships with students.

College of the Ozarks seeks faculty members who embrace the institution's Christian mission,

demonstrate excellence in undergraduate teaching, serve as mentors and positive role models

for students, and contribute collaboratively to the life of the College. Applicants should hold an

M.S.,

D.Sc., or Ph.D. in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related computing field.

Candidates with degrees in a related discipline should also demonstrate substantial, well

documented experience in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
