Ngarra Christian College is currently seeking to appoint skilled and enthusiastic Classroom Teachers to support our students as we grow young people of faith, character, and purpose.

Our Colleges

Ngarra is a specialised learning environment, located on the Norwest Christian College campus, in the north-west sector of Sydney. Since its inception in 2023, Ngarra continues to grow and fulfil a need in our local community as a specialised learning environment. In 2026, Ngarra educates students from Kindergarten to Year 8 and will grow beyond 2026 to teach students up to Year 12.

Ngarra and Norwest exist as separate educational institutions, intentionally sharing facilities, resources, and learning experiences that will form the basis of rich learning opportunities for all students. Our motto is “Two schools, One learning community”.

Your Role:
  • Teaching students with mild to moderate autistic/ intellectual learning needs
  • Collaborating with the Ngarra staff and parents to create excellent working relationships
  • Mentoring and pastorally caring for Ngarra students in a Christian setting
Qualifications and

Experience:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate at interview a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with that faith, including an active commitment to a Christian fellowship, as well as the following skills and experience:

  • a NESA accredited teacher. Completion of tertiary education studies in Inclusive Education is highly desired;
  • experience successfully teaching students with additional needs;
  • experience teaching in secondary is highly desired, however primary and secondary teachers are welcome to apply;
  • ability to form positive, professional relationships with students in an educational environment;
  • strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • ability to use technology to engage students in learning;
  • Working knowledge of the Disability Standards for Education and ability to implement Individual Education Plans in the classroom;
  • exceptional time management skills;
  • commitment to professional learning and growth; and,
  • ability to care for students’ well-being and share from a perspective of Christian faith.
