Southeastern Louisiana University's Office of Financial Aid invites applications for the position of Financial Aid Counselor.
This position reports to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid.
The Financial Aid Counselor's duties include counseling and advising students and parents on the various financial aid programs, assisting with the administration of one or more federal, state, or institutional financial aid programs, evaluating Financial Aid applications in order to determine student eligibility for various financial aid programs, and collecting data and keeping accurate records.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university by hire date
- Experience in financial aid administration, or related experience
- Experience in a highly automated, financial aid office at an institution which resembles Southeast Louisiana University in size and complexity of program administration
- Proficient with automated data management
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication, customer service and public relation skills
- Knowledge or skill in various software applications including Microsoft Word and data management tools
