POSITION: Community Resource Leader - Temporary

SALARY: $52,961- $62,605

The Community Resource Leader may work under the administrators within the Office Federal and State Programs, the Department of Family and Community Engagement (FACE), or building principals, and provides resources needed by students in the Neglected and Delinquent Programs, facilitates parent involvement activities, and provides outreach to parents in extended learning opportunity and/or Family Resource Center programs based on the department or school assignment.

The Community Resource Leader assists with the planning and implementation of the educational program provided to students placed in agencies that house Neglected and Delinquent Youth, and confers with agency personnel on program matters. The incumbent assists with organizing various district parent involvement initiatives and will monitor appropriate extended learning program operations. No supervisory duties are exercised.

• Assists with the implementation and coordination of educational services to agencies that house incarcerated youth;
• Assists with providing instructional supplies and materials to these agencies;
• Assists with monitoring the daily instructional program provided to these students by the BPS staff;
• Communicates with agency personnel regarding the Buffalo Public School’s policies and procedures as they pertain to Neglected and Delinquent Youth;
• Acts as a liaison, assisting parents with connecting to community resources, agencies and programs;
• Prepares and maintains records and reports regarding activities and follow-ups;
• Performs related duties as required.

• Implements Family Resource Centers (FRC) Operating Procedures;
• Coordinate and facilitate tasks to successfully implement Family Resource programming;
• Serve as a critical connector to internal (BPS) and external (community-based) parent and family supports;
• Participate in school-based planning meetings to share FRC programming;
• Plan and support Family Resource Centers offerings and activities through the FACE Department;
• Support sign-in and survey administration for Family Resource Center programming;
• Conduct regular outreach to promote Family Resource Centers services and programs;
• Conduct regular outreach to obtain course participation follow-up feedback;
• Proactively market, recruit, and promote Family Resource Center programming;
• Input and maintain programming data;
• Recruit families and community to engage in Family Resource Center programming;
• Performs related duties as required.

Good knowledge of the Federal and State Educational Laws pertaining to incarcerated youth Working knowledge of the Buffalo Public School system;
Ability to understand and interpret written material;
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing Ability to work effectively with students, parents/guardian, community agencies, school personnel;
