Macon R-1 School District is seeking a caring, dependable individual to serve as a part-time Personal Paraprofessional in the Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support to an assigned student
• Assist the student with entering and exiting wheelchair and with other transfers, using appropriate procedures and equipment
• Assist with toileting, diapering, personal hygiene, and other daily care needs
• Support the student's participation in classroom activities, routines and transitions
• Follow the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP), health plan, safety plan, and staff directions
• Help maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment
• Protect student confidentiality and communicate professionally with students, families, and staff
• Complete additional training related to the student's individual medical, mobility, personal-care, behavioral, and educational needs
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or administrator

Qualifications:

Must obtain, at minimum, a valid Substitute Certificate issued by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).
