Position Summary
The Student Minister will provide spiritual leadership, biblical teaching, discipleship, and pastoral care for students in grades 6-12. The goal is to help students know Christ, grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, serve others, and share the Gospel.
Key Responsibilities- Provide weekly biblical teaching and discipleship for students on Sunday morning and Wednesday nights.
- Build intentional, Christ-centered relationships with students and their families.
- Develop and oversee student ministry activities, retreats, camps, mission opportunities, and outreach events.
- Recruit, train, and encourage adult volunteers to serve in the student ministry.
- Partner with parents in the spiritual development of their teenagers.
- Encourage students to share their faith and become involved in the life and ministry of the church.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and spiritually healthy environment for students.
- Communicate regularly with the Senior Pastor regarding ministry plans, needs, and progress.
- Manage the student ministry budget and calendar responsibly.
- Demonstrates a genuine and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Feels called and passionate about working with students.
- Supports the church's beliefs and the Baptist Faith & Message.
- Possesses strong biblical teaching, communication, and relational skills.
- Demonstrates personal integrity, maturity, organization, and dependability.
- Previous student ministry experience and/or biblical education preferred.
The Student Minister should be relational, biblical, evangelistic, discipleship-focused, and team-oriented, with a desire to see students become committed followers of Jesus Christ and active participants in the life of the church.
