Toassisttheteacherinprovidingforapropereducationalprocessand environmentforeachstudent.
EMPLOYMENT: 9months
EVALUATION:
Performanceofthisjobwillbeevaluatedannuallyinaccordancewith provisionsofthe
Board'spolicy.
- 1. Worksunderthesupervisionanddirectionoftheclassroomteacherwhileintheperformanceofhis/her duties.
- 2. Doesnotdivulgeanypersonalinformationconcerninganystudentexcepttotheclassroomteacherto whomassignedortheadministratoroftheschool.
- 3. Participatesinscheduledinservicetraining.
- 4. Assistsstudentswiththeiracademicsubjects,socialskilldevelopmentandothernonacademicareasas directedbytheteacher.
- 5. Assistsstudentswithindependentseatworkassignedbytheteacher.
- 6.Assistswithsupplementaryworkforstudentsandsupervisesindependentstudy.
- 7. Reinforceslearningwithsmallgroupswhiletheteacherworkswithindividualstudents.
- 8. Assistsstudentsinlearningself helpandhygienicskills.
- 9. Assistinthesupervisionofstudentsduringmeals,recess,field trips,leisureactivitiesandbusloadingand unloading.
- 10. Performsclericaldutiessuchasrecordinformation,filingdataandpreparinginstructionalmaterialsas requiredbytheteacher.
- 11. Assiststheteacherinobservingstudents,recordingspecificbehaviorsasdirectedbytheteacher.
- 12. Scoresobjectivetestsandpapersandkeepsappropriaterecordsfortheteachers.
- 13. Participatesinstudentconferenceswithparentsandstaffwhenappropriate.
- 14. Maintainsthedegreeofcontrolanddisciplinewhichwouldbemaintainedbyandconsistentwiththe teacher'sdisciplinaryprocedureswhenassignedtosupervisechildrenwhentheteacherisnotphysically present.
- 15. Interveneswithstudents,atthedirectionoftheteacheroradministrator,incrisis/emergency situations.
- 16. Assiststheteacherinpreparingtheclassroom,equipmentandmaterialsforuseinspecificinstructional programs.
- 17. Workswiththeteachertodevelopclassroomschedules.
- 18. Encouragesstudentstoexpressideasandfeelingsinappropriateways.
- 19. Providespositiveverbalandnonverbalreinforcementtostudents.
- 20. Additional Duties Maybe Assigned .
