, specialising in commercial‑scale PV Operations & Maintenance, Asset Management, and Technical Services across California. Due to rapid growth in their C&I solar portfolio, the business is expanding its O&M division and is seeking an experienced Solar Technician / O&M Manager to support that expansion. Their full‑lifecycle approach ensures system owners maximise the technical, environmental, and financial performance of their PV assets.
the Role
The Solar O&M Manager will oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation across a C&I PV portfolio. This includes managing technicians, leading corrective and preventative maintenance programs, conducting site inspections, and serving as the technical authority on both modern and legacy inverter platforms such as but not limited to.
SMA, ABB, SnapINverter systems.
This is a remote role with state‑wide travel.
Responsibilities- Manage field technicians and subcontractors
- Oversee preventative maintenance schedules and deliverables
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, inverter, and system performance issues
- Conduct diagnostics, testing, and root‑cause analysis
- Provide technical oversight for older/legacy inverter technologies
- Perform QA/QC inspections, site assessments, and commissioning support
- Review monitoring data to identify performance trends and system anomalies
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, NEC, and California regulations
- Prepare documentation, service reports, and maintenance records
- Support workflow improvements to enhance uptime and reliability
- Certified Electrician with an active California C‑10 Contractor Licence (Preferred)
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in C&I PV / Solar O&M
- Strong technical expertise across multiple generations of PV inverter and tracker technologies
, including legacy systems - Advanced AC/DC electrical knowledge and proven troubleshooting capability
- Experience with power electronics, metering, testing equipment, and system monitoring platforms (DAS/SCADA/EMS)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Working knowledge of NEC, OSHA safety standards (OSHA 30 preferred)
- Familiarity with CMMS work order systems and digital reporting tools
- Capable of managing multiple sites remotely and independently
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record
- $130,000–$150,000 (DOE)
