Field/Service Technician
Overview
The Service Technician reports directly to the Operations Manager and is responsible for identifying and managing pests, rodents, and termites for residential and commercial clients. The ideal candidate should possess an entrepreneurial spirit, problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Additionally, they should be open to coaching and learning.
Responsibilities- Manage pest control on-site across various accounts.
- Conduct physical inspections of residential structures to assess pest presence and infestation severity.
- Complete required service stops and meet company performance quotas.
- Interact directly with homeowners, home buyers, tenants, and their agents regarding service tasks.
- Create diagrams and graphs to represent the type, severity, and location of infestations.
- Engage in sales solicitations and provide cost estimates.
- Coordinate activities with office personnel.
- Accurately account for company funds collected during business activities.
- Submit all paperwork and collections daily.
- Assist with administrative tasks as directed by the supervisor, including compiling reports and contacting customers for service follow‑ups.
- Maintain company‑issued equipment and vehicles in a clean and safe condition.
- Adhere to company procedures and state/provincial regulations to ensure safety for all parties.
- Collaborate with office personnel and the sales team.
- Ensure exceptional customer service.
- Follow up with customers as required.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving records is mandatory.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend written correspondence.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and customer service skills are essential.
- Basic math skills are required for calculations.
- Route and/or sales experience is preferred.
- Must be able to kneel, bend, reach, and crawl for treatments and inspections.
- Must work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, using personal protective equipment as needed.
- Must pass a pre‑employment drug screening and a background check.
- Candidate must be available to work Monday–Friday 7 a.m.–6 p.m. with occasional Saturdays.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Obtain necessary state/provincial license or certification within three months of employment.
- A minimum of two years of pest control experience is preferred.
May be required to perform general maintenance tasks, such as emptying trash or sweeping floors. Frequent standing, walking, and sitting are required. Occasional reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Work EnvironmentWork outdoors in various weather conditions. Use and maintain safety equipment, including bump caps, gloves, goggles, respirators, eye washers, first aid kits, and spill abatement equipment. Inspect and work in sub‑areas, basements, and attics, and handle various chemicals and materials. Personal protective equipment and safe handling training will be provided by the company.
