Job DescriptionEnsures and performs a variety of skilled, technical and administrative work in the operation, repair, maintenance and replacement of complex equipment and treatment processes, which can include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for safe, efficient and effective operation and maintenance of the water/wastewater treatment facility; as well as, the distribution and collection systems, and pumping facilities.
- Monitor, observe variations, and interpret the performance of all equipment, gauges, meters, control panels and charts to determine processing requirements.
- Perform safe, preventative maintenance and repair on machinery and equipment. Update and maintain records of completed maintenance.
- Extract samples and perform routine and non‑routine laboratory tests and analysis. Assemble instruments and equipment for analytical or research work. Safely prepare chemical and bacteriological media, stains, reagents and test solutions used in the laboratory. Clean, maintain and store instruments and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and logging of all pertinent information required in wastewater treatment operations. Work includes preparation and submittal of necessary data and reports to other governmental agencies as required. Prepare and submit monthly operations and performance reports to regional office and client as directed.
- Represent the company to other agencies and citizens with a courteous, helpful, accurate and business‑like attitude; displays a commitment to People Service. Respond to customer/client complaints and resolve such complaints in a fair and expeditious manner.
- Continually evaluate other market potential in geographic area and solicit business to expand the local project.
- Order, store and account for chemicals, utilities, contract services, and other materials and supplies in the most cost‑effective manner, including coding of invoices.
- Ensure the general maintenance of building(s), grounds and company equipment, including vehicles and tools is performed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- MO water, wastewater and/or distribution certifications helpful but not required. Will be expected to obtain certifications within established time frames.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Strong mechanical skills to repair related water and wastewater equipment, such as pumps, etc.
- Required to live within 10‑30 minutes of Warsaw.
- Required to work weekends and on‑call based on a rotating schedule, must be able to respond to after‑hour emergencies.
- Must be able to pass a pre‑employment physical and drug screening.
Description of facility:
The water system consists of 2 wells with equipment to add chlorine and fluoride, 1‑500,000 gallon standpipe, 1‑200,000 gallon elevated storage tank and various hydrants, mains, valves and booster stations. The wastewater system consists of a 0.370 MGD sequencing batch reactor with aerobic digestion and UV disinfection, 1 sludge holding tank where bio‑solids are stored until land application, a 2‑cell lagoon used for equalization, and the wastewater collection system includes 5 lift stations, various manholes and sewer mains.
