Job Overview
Student Assistant (Engineering & Architectural Sciences) to support the Division of Drinking Water’s Central Branch in the Fresno District, South Central California Section (Section
4). Working location: 265 W. Bullard Avenue, Ste 101, Fresno, CA 93704.
$18.27 - $28.16 per hour, paid hourly up to 1500 hours in a rolling year.
Working ConditionsTelework may be available with required in‑person attendance. Must reside in California; proof of residency may be required.
Minimum Requirements- Currently enrolled in an upper‑division engineering, architectural, or landscape architectural program.
- Minimum 9 semester (or 8 quarter) units per term; must maintain a 2.0 GPA per term.
- Valid driver’s license if driving is required.
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above. The position is a non‑testing classification; the panel will evaluate education, experience, personal traits, and fitness for the job.
Key Qualifications- Integrity, initiative, dependability, good judgment, and the ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, elementary principles of algebra and geometry, and their application to engineering, architecture, or landscape architecture.
- Familiarity with drafting procedures and equipment, programming, and database use.
- Ability to apply engineering knowledge to work situations, follow oral and written instructions, and learn operating procedures.
- Willingness to perform routine or detailed work to learn practical techniques applicable to engineering or architectural work.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
