Role Description A Plant Manager in a combined cycle power plant provides the leadership necessary to achieve high-reliability electricity generation while maintaining the highest standards in safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.

Their day demands a blend of team leadership, technical knowledge, planning skills, and budget awareness, all put into motion through effective written and verbal communication with all involved stakeholders. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for care, custody and control of combined cycle power plant with 2 1X1 blocks of V84.3A(2) combustion turbines in single shaft configuration with HE steam turbines and hydrogen cooled generators.
  • Responsible for overall leadership of the team of site personnel to meet the highest standards of safety, environmental and regulatory compliance, and plant reliability.
  • Provide direction and prioritization to operations and maintenance teams to ensure that resources are applied in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
  • Foster a strong safety culture that maximizes employee engagement.
  • Drive predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize forced outages and equipment longevity.
  • Maintain a focus on continuous improvement so that policies and methods evolve to address the changing needs of the plant and to eliminate repeat issues.
  • Responsible for the Environmental, Health and Safety programs and compliance will all permits. Program must meet all requirements of OSHA, air and water permits, hazardous material handling and storage. Ensure all plant activities are executed in strict compliance with program.
  • Responsible for compliance with NERC standards.
  • Ensure plant activities are conducted in accordance with approved procedures and prudent operations and maintenance practices. Ensure plant maintains complete and accurate records of maintenance program activities, downtime, outages, repair requirements and production and performance tracking.
  • Manage all aspects of staffing, training, and developing qualified team to meet and exceed expectations of Siemens Energy and facility Owner.
  • Responsible for developing annual O&M plant budget, approving expenditures, monitoring monthly billing expenses and responding to client budget-related questions.
  • Responsible to identify, develop and implement plant improvement projects that improve the plant’s capability to meet the facility Owner’s goals. Ensure effective usage of “management of change” process to ensure plant changes are properly reflected in plant documentation and any necessary changes that effect operations, maintenance, safety, compliance or other aspects are identified and acted upon.
  • Establish and maintain housekeeping standards.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree or equivalent required with 7-10 years operational management experience in a power plant environment.

  • Proven ability to influence and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Knowledgeable of and promotes highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.
