Location: Louisiana

Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, the Director, Maintenance oversees all maintenance strategy, planning, execution, and reliability programs required to ensure the safe, compliant, and high-availability operation of the LNG export terminal. This role is accountable for establishing a world-class maintenance and reliability organization, optimizing lifecycle performance of critical assets, managing all maintenance and service contracts, and ensuring readiness from late-construction through commissioning, start-up, and long-term stable operations.

The Director builds a high-performance team that delivers safe, efficient, disciplined maintenance execution and drives continuous improvement across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, rotating equipment, and asset integrity functions.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead and execute a comprehensive maintenance strategy integrating preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered programs across all disciplines.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee maintenance execution to ensure asset availability, technical quality, and minimal operational disruption.
  • Drive the Reliability Program, including bad-actor elimination, RCFA/FMEA, criticality analysis, and long-term performance improvement.
  • Oversee asset integrity programs such as RBI, corrosion control, PSV management, SIL testing, and inspection activities.
  • Manage all maintenance contracts, LTSAs, vendor performance, and specialty service providers to ensure safe, high-quality, cost-effective execution.
  • Ensure full maintenance readiness for commissioning and start-up, including CMMS buildout, asset hierarchy, BOMs, and turnover requirements.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performance maintenance, reliability, and asset integrity organization with strong competency frameworks and safe work practices.
  • Maintain rigorous adherence to HSSE, PTW, LOTO, and PSM-critical requirements while supporting emergency response and high-hazard operations.
  • Oversee maintenance budgets, cost control, procurement alignment, and communicate asset performance, risks, and KPIs to senior leadership.
Qualifications Education, Certificates, and Licenses
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Reliability, or related Engineering discipline;10+ years of LNG, petrochemical, gas plant maintenance, or midstream maintenance experience.
  • Advanced certifications in reliability engineering (CMRP/CRE), asset integrity, or maintenance management preferred.
Experience
  • 10+ years in maintenance, reliability, and asset integrity roles within LNG, petrochemical, or major energy facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience developing maintenance strategies, building CMMS/ERP systems, and executing large-scale maintenance programs.
  • Strong background in rotating equipment, cryogenic systems, compressors, turbo machinery, and high-hazard industrial environments.
  • Proven success managing multidisciplinary maintenance teams and contractor work forces.
  • Experience with contract development, LTSAs, and vendor performance management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Expert knowledge of maintenance execution, reliability engineering, asset integrity, and inspection programs.
  • Strong technical competency across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and rotating equipment disciplines.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and motivate teams.
  • Excellent planning, scheduling, prioritization, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • High proficiency in CMMS, ERP, planning software, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and lead through complex failures and high-stakes scenarios.
Work Conditions
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round, climb ladders/stairs, work at heights, and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Must maintain a valid TWIC and comply with federally mandated drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must be available for call-outs, emergency response, night/weekend support, and unplanned events as required by plant operations.
