Overview

Join PTI Technologies as a CAD/PAD Project Engineer in Oxnard, CA. This onsite role offers the opportunity to contribute to aerospace innovation in a high-performance environment with a focus on safety and professional growth.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, scale-up, and provide production support for energetic materials and chemical formulations for aerospace and defense applications.
  • Perform controlled chemical mixing, process optimization, and ensure safety compliance as formulations move from laboratory to pilot and full-scale manufacturing environments.
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, quality, and safety teams to establish robust, repeatable, and compliant processes.
  • Develop and validate mixing processes, design mixing equipment, conduct capability studies, and improve operational yield and consistency.
  • Engage in new product introductions and perform root cause analyses for process deviations.
  • Assist with CAD systems (e.g., Solid Works) and collaborate on product lifecycle management.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or related field; 5–10 years of chemical process engineering experience, focusing on chemical mixing operations.
  • Experience handling energetic materials, propellants, and hazardous formulations; knowledge of batch and continuous mixing processes and equipment selection.
  • Familiarity with process safety management (PSM) and hazard analysis methodologies; ability to obtain ATF security clearance.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of aerospace and military standards; skills in blueprint reading, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Preferred:
    Master’s degree in chemical engineering; direct experience in aerospace or defense environments; strong analytical, attention to detail, project leadership, and mentorship abilities.
