Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be expected to perform the following tasks effectively with minimal supervision:
Environmental, Health, and Safety Inspections:
Conduct inspections and audits across various sites, including manufacturing, commercial, and high-tech facilities
, to identify potential hazards or compliance deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.Regulatory Compliance Understanding:
Demonstrate a solid understanding of state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations (e.g.,
EPA, RWQCB, OSHA, DTSC
) and effectively educate clients about their regulatory obligations and compliance requirements.Permit Applications and Reporting:
Assist in the preparation and submission of permit applications, audit reports, compliance reports, and other required regulatory documentation.On-Site EHS Support:
Provide on-site environmental, health, and safety support to various clients, ensuring compliance with safety standards.Training and Preparedness:
Develop and deliver EHS-related training sessions
, emergency preparedness programs
, and quality assurance for client programs.Program Development and Maintenance:
Create, implement, review, and maintain OSHA and state-required safety and health programs, systems, and procedures
.Regulatory Interpretation and Technical Advice:
Offer interpretation and expert guidance on Federal and California regulations
.Accident Investigation and Reporting:
Conduct thorough accident investigations and prepare the necessary reports for regulatory agencies.Safety Consultation:
Provide consultation services for chemical and physical hazards
, including ergonomics, electrical safety, respiratory and hearing protection, compressed energy, and emergency preparedness
.Collaborative Environmental Compliance Services:
Work independently or with team members to deliver environmental compliance services effectively.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Safety, or a related field
.At least 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent education in environmental, health, and safety with a focus on regulations and compliance
.Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time (around one week per month) to conduct site audits.
Possession of a valid US Driver’s License and successful completion of pre-employment driving record verification
.
4+ years of experience in health and safety regulations and environmental compliance
.Professional certifications such as CPEA, PE, CSP, CIH, CHMM
, or equivalent.Experience with
ISO 45001, 9001, and 14001 standards.Background in environmental compliance for industrial facilities
.Strong communication, organizational, and planning skills
.
