Job DescriptionAn employer sitting in Simi Valley, CA is looking to hire a Chief Engineer that will be directly supporting their loitering munition systems product line to support their Army customer. This person will be responsible for the development side and production, while overseeing (10-15) engineers of multiple disciplines. This role will require this person to be involved in both the development and transition of systems into their production, which will also entail customer involvement.
This person will need to seek growth in the production of loitering munition systems from 20 units/month and ramp up to full rate production to 200-300 units per month. This position is paying between ($170k-245k).
- Lead system integration across mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems
- Manage complex field and flight test issues, including use of FRACAS or similar failure‑tracking processes
- Adapt and evolve engineering and reliability processes as customer requirements are defined and systems mature
- Lead failure investigations and corrective action efforts for system‑level issues
- Participate in flight test events, including both company‑led and customer‑led testing
- Travel to test events and customer program reviews as needed (Army customer on the East Coast; ~once per month)

Required Skills & Experience- Experience overseeing a team of 10-15 engineers; lead a multi-disciplinary engineering project
- Experience being customer facing and good leadership skills and professionalism
- Experience conducting qualification testing, grow and increase production lines
- Experience with in-field flight testing, managing complex field and flight issues, experience with FRACAS and traveling (1/month) as needed to the East Coast
- Experience with in Aerospace Engineering or UAVs/Drones
