What are your contributions to the team?
  • Perform tasks in a diversified range of Materials and Processes Engineering fields, such as metallics and chemical processes
  • Lead material qualifications, support supplier changes, part non-conformity issues and production line requests.
  • Lead development of test plans, collaborate with internal and external laboratories, analyze results and prepare, review and approve test reports
  • Prepare, review & approve Materials & Processes Specifications and manage associated Qualified Product Library changes
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, change documentation, and release documentation pursuant to technical engineering modifications/specifications for materials in general
  • Lead R&D projects, support re-design activities, investigate materials & processes impacts triggered by new environmental regulations
  • Handle complex issues, make challenging technical decisions and provide regular status updates to upper management
How to thrive in this role?
  • You have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Materials or Chemical engineering from an accredited university
  • You have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience as an M&P Engineer in an aerospace/military production environment
  • You have extensive knowledge of the different metallic materials that are used in the aerospace industry, mainly aluminum, but also steel and titanium as well as the different corrosion mechanisms and the available means to prevent them.
  • You are aware of the main manufacturing processes, such as machining, forming, heat treatment, shot peening and the different chemical surface treatments of aluminum (chemical conversion coating, deoxidizing and anodizing)
  • You are knowledgeable about typical military and/or aerospace industry standards such as CMH-17, MIL specs, Federal regulations, ASTM, ISO and SAE specifications
  • You are adept at solving engineering problems quickly and independently
  • You are pro-active, result oriented and have a strong sense of responsibility
  • You must be able to work in a team environment and interact constantly with Senior Management, Professionals and Technicians from other value stream functions (Methods, Quality, Procurement etc.)
  • You have excellent communication skills in English and French (written and oral)
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
