Wireless Network Engineer Cisco Expertise

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience with enterprise Wi-Fi, covering standards, encryption, 802.1x, RADIUS, EAP-TLS, and wireless client chipset/driver configurations.
• Demonstrated expertise in TCP/IP protocols (IPv4 and IPv6), along with routing and switching knowledge.
• Background in supporting collaboration tools that utilize Wi-Fi technology.
• Proficient with wireless design and tools, including Ekahau or Hamina.
• Familiarity with Cisco AireOS and Juniper Mist platforms.
• Relevant certifications, such as CWNA and ECSE-D.
• Experience with networking services like ACS, AAA, DHCP, BOOTP, DNS, ICMP, and SNMP.
• Knowledge of remote access technologies (e.g., SSL-VPN, IPSec, B2B).
• Expertise in Layer 3 networking protocols (including OSPF, BGP, VRFs, QoS, ACLs, route redistribution, route filtering, MPLS-VPNs, EVPN, VxLAN, GRE, DMVPN, etc.).
• Proven ability to design, configure, and implement a wireless network, including network planning, enterprise WLAN design strategies, infrastructure and network services design, WLAN RF design, advanced wireless site surveying, security design, and WLAN troubleshooting.
• Skills in scripting with Ansible, Python, and Shell are a plus.

• Design and implement enterprise Wi-Fi solutions that meet organizational standards.
• Maintain and optimize performance of wireless networks using advanced troubleshooting techniques.
• Collaborate with teams to integrate Wi-Fi into collaboration tools and services.
• Utilize wireless design tools to assess and enhance network performance.
• Ensure compliance with security protocols and industry standards for wireless connectivity.
• Conduct advanced wireless site surveys and develop RF designs tailored to the environment.
• Manage and configure Layer 3 networking protocols for optimal routing and switching.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for networking services like DHCP, DNS, and SNMP.
• Create and maintain documentation related to network designs and configurations.
• Explore automation techniques through scripting to enhance network management efficiency.
