Project Manager - Structural Steel Fabrication & Erection (On-Site)

A growing structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking an experienced On-Site Project Manager to oversee projects from award through closeout. This role is ideal for a steel-focused PM who understands fabrication, detailing, and erection workflows and can drive schedule, cost control, and client satisfaction.

As a Project Manager, you will coordinate closely with detailing, shop production, and field erection teams to ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and profitably.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage structural steel fabrication and erection projects from award through closeout
• Own project schedule, cost control, subcontractor coordination, and client communication
• Oversee submittals, shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders
• Track material procurement and fabrication schedules
• Coordinate erection sequencing, field logistics, and jobsite progress
• Lead project meetings and maintain GC/owner relationships
• Monitor job costs, labor productivity, and overall project performance
• Ensure strong coordination between detailing, shop, and field operations

Qualifications

• 3+ years of construction project management experience (structural steel strongly preferred)
• Strong understanding of fabrication and erection sequencing
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and standard PM tools
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Technical / AISC Expectations

• Working knowledge of AISC 360 and the AISC Code of Standard Practice
• Understanding of fabrication processes and delegated connection design coordination
• Familiarity with bolting/welding requirements and QA/QC expectations
• Ability to effectively bridge detailing, shop production, and field erection

Compensation & Benefits

• $100,000 - $125,000 salary (DOE)
• Performance-based bonus
