Neel-Schaffer is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Central Region team, based in one of our many offices in Mississippi, Arkansas, or Louisiana.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Structural Engineer with a strong background in bridge and structural design who can work independently or collaboratively on a variety of transportation and infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful work across the region while growing your career in a dynamic and inclusive setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural analysis and design for bridges and related transportation structures.
  • Prepare design calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with regional structural teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and DOT guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering.
  • PE license in Arkansas, Mississippi, or Louisiana – or ability to obtain within one year.
  • 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in bridge design.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as Open Bridge Designer, Merlin, CSI Bridge, or similar.
  • Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD and DOT design standards.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver’s license.
