Overview
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead plant engineering, maintenance, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives within a dairy manufacturing facility.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance while supporting production goals in a fast-paced, highly regulated food manufacturing environment. You will lead a team of maintenance and engineering professionals, oversee capital investments, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive safety, quality, and performance excellence.
Responsibilities- Leading and developing maintenance and engineering teams
- Driving preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime
- Planning, managing, and executing capital improvement projects
- Managing engineering and maintenance budgets
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, environmental, and workplace safety regulations
- Partnering with operations to improve productivity and reduce costs
- Supporting automation, process optimization, and sustainability initiatives
This is a hands on leadership role that balances strategic planning with day-to-day operational support.
What We’re Looking ForWe are looking for a strong technical leader with experience in manufacturing environments, ideally within food or dairy processing.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field
- 7 to 10 years of progressive engineering or maintenance leadership experience
- Proven experience leading capital projects in a manufacturing setting
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and reliability best practices
- Experience in dairy or food manufacturing
- Familiarity with refrigeration systems, utilities, and processing equipment
- Knowledge of PLCs, automation systems, and plant controls
- Understanding of HACCP, GMP, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis capability
- Ability to manage budgets and control costs
- Effective communication and cross functional collaboration skills
- A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on safety and operational excellence
