Clearance: Must obtain and maintain SECRET clearance with Critical Nuclear Weapon Design Information (CNWDI) eligibility
Location: Barksdale AFB

Position Summary

Provide senior-level expertise supporting Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NMC2) maintenance data management. Responsible for ensuring personnel supporting nuclear weapons, cruise missile, and Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) maintenance can securely and efficiently manage multiple applications, permission configurations, and data environments. The specialist will identify, prevent, and resolve classification or security violations that could result in Cybersecurity Mission Impact (CMI) events or loss of system accessibility.

Responsibilities
  • Provide subject matter expertise in nuclear maintenance data systems, application access management, and classification compliance
  • Evaluate and manage application permission configurations supporting nuclear maintenance operations
  • Identify and mitigate actual or potential classification, cybersecurity, and compliance violations impacting NMC2 availability
  • Support nuclear-related deficiency reporting, tracking, and resolution in accordance with Air Force policy
  • Advise government leadership on compliance risks, reporting accuracy, and maintenance data governance
  • Coordinate with Air Force, DoD, and Department of Energy stakeholders supporting nuclear maintenance supply chain and reporting processes
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 20 years of experience planning and executing USAF nuclear weapons, cruise missile, and ICBM maintenance activities at squadron, center, Numbered Air Force (NAF), or higher headquarters levels
  • Thorough understanding of Air Force Nuclear Weapons Security Classification Policy
  • Extensive knowledge of nuclear deficiency management systems, including deficiency reports, unsatisfactory reports, safety reports, and nuclear flag-word reporting as defined in 21-series and 91-series Air Force Instructions and the Joint Nuclear Weapons Publication System (JNWPS)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ICBM ETAR, STR, and SOR request processes, including staffing and routing requirements
  • Knowledge of Air Force and Department of Energy nuclear maintenance supply chain management
  • Thorough understanding of Nuclear Weapons-Related Materiel (NWRM) discrepancy reporting in accordance with DAFMAN 20-110
  • Thorough understanding of missile and munitions management per DAFMAN 21-200
  • Thorough understanding of ICBM and cruise missile maintenance management per AFMAN 21-202
  • Thorough understanding of the Nuclear Maintenance Certification and Qualification Program per AFMAN 21-204
  • Understanding of ICBM AVDO processes per DAFI 21-103, Equipment Inventory, Status, and Utilization Reporting
