Power Tek is currently expanding its renewable energy advisory practice to support independent evaluation engagements for municipalities and public agencies. This growth phase requires senior professionals who can combine credibility, independence, and analytical depth.
Power Tek is not an installer or EPC contractor. The firm provides independent, third-party technical and financial advisory services.
Position OverviewPower Tek is seeking a Senior Engagement Manager / Principal Consultant to lead independent third-party evaluation engagements for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects serving public agencies.
This role will serve as Executive Lead for municipal advisory assignments, ensuring technical defensibility, financial rigor, and independence from installation vendors.
The position fulfills the “Key Executive Personnel” requirement for public sector solicitations and will oversee multi-disciplinary teams conducting technical and financial due diligence.
Key Responsibilities Engagement Leadership- Serve as primary executive contact for public agency clients
- Lead independent proposal evaluations for solar PV and renewable energy projects
- Oversee technical and financial review teams
- Ensure deliverables meet public-sector defensibility standards
- Direct comprehensive third-party evaluation of vendor proposals
- Review pricing assumptions, performance guarantees, and risk allocations
- Identify material risks, omissions, and inconsistencies
- Advise municipalities and governmental entities on energy infrastructure decisions
- Present findings to executive leadership and City Councils as required
- Ensure full compliance with procurement and ethical independence standards
- Lead internal peer review process
- Confirm analytical assumptions are documented and defensible
- Maintain independence from installation vendors
- Minimum 8–15 years of experience in renewable energy advisory or infrastructure consulting
- Demonstrated experience advising public agencies (City, County, State, utility)
- Proven leadership of independent third-party evaluations
- Clear history of independent consulting (no current affiliation with EPC/installers)
- Experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams
- Strong written and executive presentation capability
- Experience evaluating distributed generation portfolios
- Experience presenting to public boards or regulatory bodies
- MBA, MPA, or engineering-related graduate degree
