A market leader in precision timing devices is searching for a skilled, Senior Electronics Lab Engineer to lead their lab activities.
You would be responsible for ensuring the effective operation of the electronics laboratory and supporting the engineering team in their work.
This includes procurement, installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and lab facility equipment and supplies in compliance with safety standards, company priorities, and budget requirements. The role also covers DUT assembly, PCB assembly, repair and debug, test setup preparation, and assisting engineers in testing electronic products.
You will be key in supporting data acquisition, processing, and preparation of technical reports, maintain organized and efficient workspace in the laboratory, and shipment coordination within sites as well as with external vendors.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain work area and equipment in safe, proper working condition.
- Troubleshoot problems with bench test equipment or test setups.
- Oversee inventory of electronic lab equipment, including regular calibration and maintenance.
- Arrange, track, and maintain tools, equipment, and consumables stock.
- Drive lab infrastructure improvements, including ESD protection, tools, and policy updates.
- Implement and sustain organized and efficient workspace in the laboratory.
- Handle shipments within sites and coordinate with external vendors.
- Assist technical staff in test setup preparation, device testing activities, including executing test procedures, loading and testing devices, recording and organizing data, processing and preparation of technical reports.
- Provide PCB fabrication support as needed.
- Assemble and solder cables, rework test boards, and electronic components.
- BS or MS in Engineering Preferred. Exceptional candidates with other technical backgrounds will be considered.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Hands‑on experience testing electronic devices, including experience using ATE and automated bench‑test setups.
- Hands‑on experience with PCB assembly (hand‑solder and reflow), including surface‑mount and chip‑scale packages.
- Knowledge of circuit debug, touch‑up, and rework.
- Experience in creating reports using PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word.
- Knowledge of MATLAB or Python is considered a plus.
- Experience with instrument control using GPIB interface is considered a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
