Electrotechnical Design Engineer

Head of Vehicle Engineering
We are seeking an Electro‑Mechanical Engineer to join the Vehicle Engineering team, who will turn complex electromechanical systems into real, working vehicles. Design, develop, and integrate systems that bring Glid’s autonomous dual‑mode vehicle platforms to market. You will work on early‑stage development of complex systems that will create the foundation of Glid’s present and future vehicle programs, ensuring our products meet the highest standards for quality, performance, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities Design- Drive design and development of electromechanical systems and components.
- Utilize Solid Works to create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings for manufacturing and fabrication partners.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analyses, and FEA simulations to ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and customer requirements.
- Integrate mechanical, electrical, and control systems into vehicle platforms, collaborating cross‑functionally as required.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to define interface requirements, integration plans, and assembly processes.
- Develop and validate integration procedures, create a system that supports continuous process improvement.
- Execute hands‑on component integration activities, including mechanical assembly, wiring and harness routing.
- Support fabrication teams to develop production‑friendly design approaches.
- BS/MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 6+ years of relevant experience designing electromechanical systems into complex vehicles or industrial platforms.
- Strong design background with solid CAD experience (e.g., Solid Works, Catia, NX).
- Demonstrated hands‑on experience with component integration, wiring harnesses, power systems, sensors, and mechanical assemblies.
- Excellent cross‑disciplinary collaboration skills and ability to lead technical integration efforts.
- Experience in heavy‑vehicle systems, robotics, autonomous systems.
- Familiarity with embedded controls, CAN bus, PLCs, sensors, and automation frameworks.
- Exposure to rail‑certified vehicle hardware, ruggedized electronics, and safety standards.
