Job Summary
Vice President of Engineering – oversee engineering teams, shape the technical direction of the company, and report directly to the CTO.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the engineering team, providing mentorship, guidance, and a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Drive the development and execution of the technical roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic priorities.
- Establish best practices for software development, including coding standards, testing methodologies, and deployment processes.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, high‑performance micro‑services and APIs.
- Collaborate closely with product management, design, and other cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
- Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability, empowering team members to take ownership and drive results.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience building and scaling engineering teams in startup environments.
- Strong technical background with expertise in micro‑services architecture and modern programming languages and frameworks (Ruby, Go, Python, React, React Native).
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) and Dev Ops practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence cross‑functional teams.
- Results‑driven mindset with a track record of delivering high‑quality software products on time and within budget.
- Passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Experience scaling startups – demonstrated track record of successfully scaling engineering teams and infrastructure in fast‑paced startup environments.
- Hands‑on technical expertise in building and deploying micro‑services architectures, particularly using Ruby, Go, Python, React, and React Native.
- Proven leadership in Agile environments – fostering collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Track record of developing and mentoring engineering talent, including fostering diversity and inclusion.
Job Requirements
The role requires the ability to work at a computer terminal with monitor, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods, stoop, bend, and reach for equipment, perform frequent repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and fingers, and lift, carry, push, pull, and move light objects up to 20 pounds. The role also requires effective verbal, auditory, and visual communication and perception to perform essential job functions.
Salary and BenefitsSalary range: $285,000 – $345,000. Commission eligible:
