Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) division is seeking a Staff System Test Engineer to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be part of our Air Vehicle Equipment (AVE) Integration and Test (I&T) team to plan and execute vehicle level integration, test and checkout activities supporting the Sentinel, formerly Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD), program.

- Synthesize system and test requirements into verification requirements, test objectives, success criteria, and required resources for system level tests and demonstrations.
- Support the development of test requirements and detailed integration test plans, test procedures, test readiness reviews (TRRs), test data and test reports.
- Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment.
- Interface with software developers and systems engineers in support of integration and test activities.
- Review test plans, procedures, and reports; witness testing as the Cognizant Engineer.
- Execution of qualification and acceptance testing per those requirements, plans and procedures.
- Execute the integration, test, and assembly of the Air Vehicle in preparation for developmental flight testing.
- Integrate hardware from sub-system teams.
- Participate in internal and customer test planning working groups.
- Support program reviews and customer delivery (CDRL) development
- Compile data and define changes required in test equipment, test procedures, or new test requirements.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, testing houses, development engineers and other stakeholders involved in the testing process.
- Participate in technical exchange meetings, interfacing with customers (internal/external) and contributing to a broad range of program deliverables.
- Execute tests, manage and prioritize problems/failures.
- Review and evaluate test results and provide summary reports.
- Work with cross functional, multi-discipline test and element, system, and segment-level teams.
- Identify configurations to support test and prototypes of developing systems.
- Perform data analysis of input, internal, and output message data.
- Document test results and prepare test status documentation.
- Create Test Discrepancy Reports to document issues.
- Develop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documents.
- Maintain test equipment documentation and follow configuration management requirements.
- Participate in test facility stand-up activities, including operations and process development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) with 12 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 10 years of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience; 4 additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
