Manufacturing Project Engineer

Its Chatsworth, CA, site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and new solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. With over 1,400 employees across four time zones and seven sites, Ontic has more than doubled in size since 2019 and continues to grow  team is looking for a Manufacturing Project Engineer to join the operations center in Chatsworth.

• Perform technical reviews of new product.
• Develop manufacturing planning for products, including BOM; improve or modify existing planning as needed.
• Modify design of current products to mitigate obsolescence issues.
• Design assembly/test tooling and shop aids, as needed.
• Develop or modify technical manuals, issue Service Letters and Service Bulletins, as needed.
• Assist in identifying and evaluating suppliers for new or critical processes.
• Assist purchasing in resolving supplier’s technical problems, drawing and specification interpretation.
• Assist Customer Service and Sales in providing technical support to customers.
• Help troubleshoot assembly/test related problems, as required.
• Understand and participate in Manufacturing/Production Engineering and development through concurrent (teaming) engineering process.
• Oversee production processes (including outside processing) with Quality, as required.
• Initiate and participate in the controlled document change process (ECR, ECN), as required.

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years’ experience in aerospace manufacturing including product design, manufacturing, planning, testing and fabrication.
• Knowledge of Aerospace product qualification requirements and familiarity with FAA/Military certification requirements.
• Experience setting up new production lines and moving production lines.
• Ability to provide technical support to customers, suppliers and in‑house technicians.
• Effective communication and ability to write clear, concise technical reports.
• PMP certification is a plus.

• Compensation Pay Range $60,000–$90,000.
