Sustainment Engineer I – Operations Engineering

Location:

Santa Ana, California – Onsite 5 days per week, up to 10% domestic or international travel.

• Asset Lifecycle Management:
  Oversee sustainment and optimization of a high‑volume global fleet of injection mold tooling.
• New Tooling Integration:
  Lead technical support for design, fabrication and qualification of replacement tooling to ensure seamless production continuity.
• Technical Problem Solving:
  Conduct deep‑dive root‑cause investigations for internal production bottlenecks and supplier quality deviations.
• Standardization & Governance:
  Author and maintain SOPs to standardize processes across the sustainment lifecycle.
• Process Architecture:
  Design and implement internal workflows to streamline sustainment of physical assets.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Identify and pitch data‑driven opportunities for product, equipment and efficiency enhancements.
• Cross‑Functional
  
  Collaboration:
  
  Serve as a technical bridge between Quality, Purchasing, CI and Manufacturing to hit operational targets.

Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering (Required)

Professional

Experience:

0–3 years in a Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering role.

• Direct experience with design, maintenance and material selection of injection‑molded components and tooling.
• Hands‑on experience with ultrasonic welding processes and proficiency in Solid Works or equivalent CAD platforms for design review and troubleshooting.
• Background in injection mold tool design is highly desirable.

• Communication – strong verbal and technical writing skills, translating complex issues into actionable plans.
• Adaptability – disciplined team player who thrives on feedback and remains focused in deadline‑driven environments.
