Responsibilities
Prepare environmental technical studies to comply with CEQA and NEPA, including experience in one of the following fields: air quality/greenhouse gas, noise/vibration, hazardous waste/materials studies (e.g., ISA Phase
1), cultural, archaeological, and historic resources.
Provide environmental support from concept development through project completion, researching, gathering, and analyzing data, preparing project materials, and applying CEQA and NEPA environmental laws, regulations and policies to ensure client compliance.
Collaborate and communicate with clients and the community, creating and delivering presentations and reports.
Function as task lead, provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, and remain open to learning other functions of environmental planning.
- Under minimal direction, lead collection and analysis of data obtained for projects.
- Determine or develop best methodology and technical approaches for conducting analysis in the field.
- Examine and evaluate present and future potential environmental science effects related to planning, design and construction of proposed projects.
- Serve as task lead or principal author in the preparation of reports on environmental science effects of projects.
- Provide technical scientific support on environmental issues to project managers.
- Perform review of work to ensure design or construction compliance with criteria and scientific specifications.
- Prioritize and participate in marketing and proposal preparation.
- Lead the preparation of applications and supporting documents for local, state and federal environmental permits and other regulatory compliance laws and regulations.
- Organize and participate in public meetings; attend meetings and may lead discussion on environmental science issues.
- Mentor junior staff, provide recruiting recommendations and performance feedback.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Archeology, Anthropology or related field and 8 years relevant experience, OR Master’s degree in any of those fields and 7 years relevant experience.

1), cultural, archaeological and historic resources. - Experience developing standalone environmental technical studies in support of CEQA and NEPA.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project and client‑specific programs, staying current on updates.
- Technical oversight and guidance in the development of new ideas, data, and methodologies, and how to apply them to scientific and environmental analysis.
- Lead marketing and proposal efforts, serving as pursuit champion or overseeing proposal production and review.
- Review monitoring protocols to ensure compliance with design criteria and regulations.
- Serve as senior reviewer of technical reports, providing guidance to less experienced staff.
- Recognized expert in established analytical methods, with extensive application experience.
- 5–10+ years experience in preparing environmental technical studies for CEQA and NEPA.
- Expertise in various environmental resource analyses.
- Experience preparing proposals and marketing.
