Job Summary:
The Industrial Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and optimizing chemical manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure safety compliance. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and maintenance, to implement process improvements and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Design & Optimization: Design, develop, and optimize chemical processes to enhance production efficiency, improve product quality, and reduce operational costs.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with industry safety standards and environmental regulations, conducting regular safety assessments and implementing necessary changes.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and implement process improvements.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
- Project Management: Manage and execute process improvement projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to provide technical support, training, and guidance on process operations and troubleshooting.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all process designs, changes, and procedures to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance.
- Equipment Optimization: Evaluate and optimize equipment performance, working with maintenance teams to schedule and perform preventive maintenance and upgrades.
- Troubleshooting: Quickly and effectively diagnose and resolve process-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.
- Research & Development: Participate in research and development activities to innovate and improve existing processes and develop new manufacturing methods.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- Technical
Skills:
Strong knowledge of chemical processes, process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS), and industrial equipment. - Problem-Solving: Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex process-related issues.
- Project Management: Experience managing projects from inception to completion, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Safety Focus: Deep understanding of industry safety standards, environmental regulations, and risk management practices.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Certifications: Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is a plus.
