Position Overview

We are looking for a high‑performing leader to provide engineering leadership and advance the combustion business’s strategic plans. The role focuses on delivering innovative HVAC, water‑heater, and boiler solutions, ensuring new products are delivered on plan and on budget to drive market share growth while sustaining existing products to meet customer needs and expectations. This technology lead will collaborate with global engineering teams and plants to develop and sustain products and technologies that provide a competitive advantage for the Motor Solutions Combustion business unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with product management and business teams to build and execute product strategies that drive share growth and sustain product performance.
  • Lead a multi‑disciplinary engineering team (air‑flow solutions, applications, electrical, mechanical) for the development and sustainment of combustion blower solutions.
  • Oversee engineering resources and manage technical risks to ensure timely development of new products.
  • Align engineering teams by setting performance goals that match the direction and strategy of the combustion business.
  • Balance effective sustainment support with new product introduction commitments using local and global engineering teams.
  • Create an engineering structure that supports long‑term combustion strategies.
  • Collaborate with the global Motor and Drives team to identify solutions and integrate existing and new motor technologies into the combustion product roadmaps.
  • Investigate new combustion technologies, monitor competitor product portfolios, track technical advances at relevant conferences, and follow regulatory developments.
  • Conduct periodic reviews with development/sustainment teams, provide support, and drive on‑time execution.
  • Guide strategic IP decisions and participate in internal patent reviews while monitoring competitor activities.
  • Foster a creative environment with strong rewards, focus on execution, high sense of urgency, continuous improvement, and pursuit of excellence.
  • Attract and develop high‑potential talent to build a deep technical bench with balanced competence and leadership.
  • Some travel is required.
Required

Skills and Qualifications

BS or Master’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of professional experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to work successfully in a team environment and independently on internal and external collaborations. Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate relationships with all levels of personnel. Candidate will be based in the Cassville/Fort Wayne Office.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience with HVAC furnaces, water heating, hearth or electric motor industry air‑flow blower solutions for combustion products and applications such as high‑efficiency gas furnace, high‑efficiency water heater with power vent technologies, power burner boilers, hearth exhaust and convection blowers.
  • Good understanding of electric motors and drives technology.
  • Strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, and creative problem‑solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in product development from concept to high‑volume production in a consumer/commercial industry.
