PositionSenior Electronics Design Engineer – Full Time, located in West Los Angeles, CA. Hybrid schedule: at least three days onsite per week (Mon, Wed, Thu). Reports to the Engineering Manager, Product Design.
Responsibilities- Component selection, schematic capture, and PCB design of electrical systems based on an FPGA SoC with associated memory devices, transceivers, communication peripherals, and power management circuitry.
- Design high‑fidelity mixed‑signal audio circuitry with excellent noise immunity.
- Follow good design practices to achieve successful mixed‑signal PCB design.
- Define PCB stack‑up, materials, and design rules to meet performance requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
- Perform hardware bring‑up, test, and root‑cause analysis on the bench using common lab equipment.
- Collaborate with PCB designers, software, FPGA, and RF teams for system‑level implementation.
- Ensure designs do not produce EMI and are well isolated in high‑EMI environments.
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
- Six years of experience in mixed‑signal circuit design involving audio and SoCs.
- Demonstrated experience with complex mixed‑signal PCB design and HDI routing.
- Experience with audio codecs and audio power amplifiers.
- Experience implementing digital communication peripherals at a hardware level (USB 3.0, 10
GbE, RS232). - Strong familiarity with test equipment such as DMM, bench‑top supply, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and spectrum analyzer.
Skills and Abilities
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
- Proven experience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs, and the Vivado IDE.
- Experience with video codecs.
- Experience with Altium Designer.
- Knowledge of compliance standards such as FCC, CE Mark, and MIL‑STD‑461.
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or
C. - Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
- Problem‑solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning, and critical‑thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 20 lbs. of equipment.
- Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens during testing or demonstrations.
- Walking or moving in laboratories.
Pay range: $120,000 – $180,000 USD (California). Salary will vary based on experience and qualifications.
