Senior Electronics Design Engineer

Silvus Technologies is a Los Angeles-based company dedicated to keeping our heroes connected through advanced mobile ad‑hoc network radios. We serve defense, law‑enforcement, sports and industrial customers worldwide.

Senior Electronics Design Engineer – Full Time, located in West Los Angeles, CA. Hybrid schedule: at least three days onsite per week (Mon, Wed, Thu). Reports to the Engineering Manager, Product Design.

• Component selection, schematic capture, and PCB design of electrical systems based on an FPGA SoC with associated memory devices, transceivers, communication peripherals, and power management circuitry.
• Design high‑fidelity mixed‑signal audio circuitry with excellent noise immunity.
• Follow good design practices to achieve successful mixed‑signal PCB design.
• Define PCB stack‑up, materials, and design rules to meet performance requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
• Perform hardware bring‑up, test, and root‑cause analysis on the bench using common lab equipment.
• Collaborate with PCB designers, software, FPGA, and RF teams for system‑level implementation.
• Ensure designs do not produce EMI and are well isolated in high‑EMI environments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• Six years of experience in mixed‑signal circuit design involving audio and SoCs.
• Demonstrated experience with complex mixed‑signal PCB design and HDI routing.
• Experience with audio codecs and audio power amplifiers.
• Experience implementing digital communication peripherals at a hardware level (USB 3.0, 10
  
  GbE, RS232).
• Strong familiarity with test equipment such as DMM, bench‑top supply, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and spectrum analyzer.

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• Proven experience with Xilinx FPGAs, SoCs, and the Vivado IDE.
• Experience with video codecs.
• Experience with Altium Designer.
• Knowledge of compliance standards such as FCC, CE Mark, and MIL‑STD‑461.
• Experience with MATLAB, Python, and/or
  
  C.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Problem‑solving, data analysis, deductive reasoning, and critical‑thinking skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Lift up to 20 lbs. of equipment.
• Occasional exposure to heat, cold, and allergens during testing or demonstrations.
• Walking or moving in laboratories.

Pay range: $120,000 – $180,000 USD (California). Salary will vary based on experience and qualifications.
