Engineering Manager - PMO

Ontic’s Chatsworth, CA site specializes in precision engineering, MRO, and solutions for parts at risk of obsolescence. With over 1,400 employees across four time zones and seven sites, the company has more than doubled in size since 2019.
Responsibilities- Lead and develop the PMO Engineering team to ensure competent transfer of engineering work packages to Ontic.
- Support direct and indirect resources with product and process knowledge during a transition.
- Retrieve, load, and catalogue all transition documents into Ontic ERP and data repositories.
- Develop and lead all engineering activities associated with the transfer.
- Capture and document product knowledge for all transferring products.
- Provide training and support for technicians, operators, engineering, HSE, and other stakeholders.
- Implement lessons learned and provide technical support during the due diligence phase.
- Manage and direct assigned resources, including contract staff.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, health and safety, data protection, and equal opportunities.
- Participate in and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
- Implement efficiency opportunities during the transition period.
- Conduct regular face‑to‑face meetings and performance reviews with direct reports.
- Ensure transferring equipment is fit for purpose and H&S compliant.
- Transfer all data, product, and process knowledge for TE.
- Perform other duties commensurate with the role as required.
- Aerospace experience is required.
- Proven experience in a technical managerial role is required.
- Previous knowledge in a technical MRO/OEM role is preferred.
- Understanding of aviation quality standards, design, and configuration controls is required.
- Manufacturing engineering experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, or electronic competence is advantageous.
- Understanding of test equipment across those domains is advantageous.
- Concise and accurate verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, and ERP systems.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to train others on products, including use of TE.
- Capability to lead in challenging situations.

Pay Range: $150,000 to $165,000
