About the Role
An Aircraft Mechanic II (Electrician) responsible for maintaining and repairing aircraft systems such as landing gear, flight controls, engines, avionics, armament, rotor systems and more. The role also includes managing other mechanics to ensure timely task completion and compliance with all technical directives.
Primary Responsibilities- Aircraft System Repair and Rebuild: work on engines, gearboxes, avionics, structural components, hydraulic units, surface controls, utilizing hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as welders, drills, and rivet guns.
- Inspection and Maintenance: perform 175‑hour, progressive, isochronal, and phase inspections; inspect engine components for cracks, corrosion, oil leaks, and more.
- Electrical and Avionics: adjust, repair, and replace electrical systems, aircraft accessories, and avionics.
- Operational Maintenance: perform pre‑flight, in‑flight, and post‑flight maintenance and support aircraft systems like gearboxes, brakes, and moving parts.
- Leadership: manage a team of mechanics, monitor progress, approve timecards, ensure timely completion, and direct task execution.
- Specialization: may specialize in engine, airframe, electrical, or armament repair.
- Technical Directive & Compliance: ensure compliance with Technical Directives for aircraft and support equipment.
- Work Flexibility: available to work all shifts and flight schedules. Full‑time employment with flexible start and end times; 40 hours not guaranteed.
- Maintain detailed records: enter maintenance in OOMA or similar system in compliance with 4790 and safety standards.
- Certifications:
obtain and maintain CDQAR. - Foreign Object Damage program participation.
- Handle hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations (e.g., 314). Potential participation in Aviation Gas‑Free program.
- Complete qualifications for various programs and support equipment.
- Minimum 5 years recent H-60S/R/F/H aircraft maintenance experience or equivalent rotary aircraft experience.
- Minimum 2 years management experience.
- CDQAR certification.
- In‑depth knowledge of aircraft technical data, manuals, and publications.
- Ability to work with international teams and in diverse cultural environments.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and aircraft maintenance systems.
- Must obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Common Access Card (CAC) and a favorable background investigation.
- Meet medical and physical standards; high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs and performing physical tasks as required.
- Computer usage for documentation, codes, and clear written and verbal English.
- Constant use of eyesight while reviewing documents and workspace; use of clear speech/language and hearing.
- Mental alertness, planning/organization skills, ability to work under deadlines.
- Climbing aircraft using step, ladders, or stands.
- Standing for extended periods; minimal sitting.
- Work under extreme weather conditions.
- PPE and safety procedures to mitigate slip, trip, hand, hearing, and eye hazards.
- Must work all shifts; 40‑hour work weeks not guaranteed; schedule depends on flight operations.
