Job Summary / PurposeThe Supply Chain (SC) organizational model for embedding procurement specialists at a site varies by business unit (e.g., Nuclear vs. Power Generation). The foundational SC knowledge and skills are consistent across units, with added operating processes for nuclear sites. The Site Procurement Specialist applies basic contracting and purchasing knowledge to acquire services and materials across a business site. The specialist serves as the SC single point of contact for the site, coordinating procurement activities with other SC departments to maximize value and efficiency for Entergy.
Key interfaces include Category Management, Central Procurement Group, Central Contracting Group, Procurement Engineering, Supplier Diversity, warehousing, inventory management, Capital Projects and Decommissioning, as well as Finance, Risk Management, Safety, HR, Legal, and external suppliers. In nuclear settings, additional key stakeholders are Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, and Production. The role plans and executes simple to moderately complex sourcing scopes, supports supplier negotiations, and manages supplier performance, all while staying strictly within Entergy policies and core values.
- Safety/Human Performance:
- Actively promote strong safety behaviors and ensure the team always puts safety first.
- Utilize key tools, programs, and proactive field visits to assure standards and behaviors.
- Monitor and influence suppliers to proactively identify any safety concerns.
- Perform storm role duties as assigned through the Storm Assignment Management System (SAMS) and/or the nuclear Emergency response Organization (ERO).
- Perform Nuclear Supply Chain Duty on Call.
- Work Processes:
- Conduct business site needs assessments; attend plant lead team meetings weekly where appropriate.
- Perform market and financial analyses to assess supplier or contract risks; coordinate with Credit Risk as required.
- Apply principles of commercial management (plan, strategize, source, perform).
- Develop and administer pre-award contracts; create RFx processes and negotiation strategies; establish KPIs.
- Process materials RFQs and coordinate specifications, schedules, and quality/quantity requirements with stakeholders.
- Create Purchase Orders, track status, and expedite when required.
- Identify and evaluate new and existing sources of supply, including local and diverse suppliers.
- Resolve invoice mismatches for over, short, damaged, or discrepant issues.
- Collaborate with Legal and Tax to ensure contract deviations meet Entergy’s legal and risk tolerance.
- Ensure Nuclear Safety Related suppliers are active on the Quality Supplier List (QSL).
- Verify that material has engineering review to meet site and regulatory requirements.
- Value Creation:
- Deliver and document savings through competitive bidding, direct negotiations, and cost avoidance.
- Process and Reporting Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with savings, diversity, document retention, bidding, contractor safety, and other areas.
- Partnership/Relationships:
- Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships to proactively address contractual needs.
- Analyze and develop claims and dispute positions with stakeholders.
- Maintain supplier relationships in accordance with Entergy’s Standards of Conduct and Integrity and SC Policies.
- Communications:
- Act as a central point of contact with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Maintain open communication streams to provide prompt, accurate, and complete information.
Site Procurement Specialist I: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or related discipline OR 4+ years of related experience.
Site Procurement Specialist II: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 2+ years of experience OR 6+ years of experience (in lieu of a degree).
