Lead by example in Health, Safety, and Environment by ensuring personal safety and that of others through active participation in safety meetings and site visits. This role promotes a strong commitment to health, safety and the environment, and involves regular safety meetings, site safety visits, and safety conversations.

Responsibilities- Execute daily activities within the Control of Work process which may include generating work permits, performing energy isolations and attending permit review meetings as required.
- Perform pre‑commissioning or static commissioning checks as per the required documentation such as Inspection Test Reports (ITR’s).
- Test Electrical Switchgear components (CT’s, VT’s, relays, etc.).
- Energize 120
VAC distribution panel boards. - Electrical motor control testing of Motor Control Center’s (MCC’s).
- Perform uncoupled electric motor runs.
- Set up and energize Heat Trace systems.
- Set up, energize and test UPS systems.
- Energize and test lighting circuits and other small power (120
VAC) equipment. - Support multi‑discipline dynamic commissioning activities that validate engineering design, construction and installation of plant equipment as directed by the lead commissioning coordinator / engineer.
- Perform sub‑system and system walk‑downs for acceptance and submit any documentation to the completions team for handover purposes.
- Provide start‑up support to the Operations team as required.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Formal technical college training and education in Electrical Technology or formal apprenticeship programs.
- NCCER certified in Electrical Technology.
- 5+ years of pre‑commissioning & commissioning experience in a similar role.
- Experience working with multi‑discipline teams.
- Highly experienced with various types and manufacturers of calibration equipment.
- Motivated self‑starter with complex problem‑solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills and team‑oriented personality required to interface with Construction and Operations teams.
- A detailed working knowledge of industrial facilities is required.
- Ability to work varying shifts and hours, including possible mandatory overtime, weekends, nights and holidays.
- Working knowledge of using hand and power tools.
- Ability to work respectively with others and work independently.
- Ability to meet a specified work volume in a specified time frame, adjusting assignments to meet changing priorities.
- Ability to climb and work at elevations from ladders, poles, lift trucks exceeding 18 feet.
- Ability to work in restricted spaces.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including lifting objects weighing over 75 pounds.
- Ability to perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather).
- Must have reliable transportation.
