Position Overview
As a Mechanical Designer, you will support the mechanical engineering team by creating and maintaining detailed designs for automated
material handling and robotics systems. This role focuses on translating engineering concepts into production-ready drawings, managing revisions,
and ensuring accurate design documentation.
Key Responsibilities
+ Create and modify 3D models and detailed drawings using Solid Works
+ Develop fabrication, assembly, and installation drawings
+ Update existing designs based on redlines, engineering feedback, and project changes
+ Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and ensure alignment with ERP systems
+ Manage design files, revisions, and documentation within PDM or PLM systems
+ Collaborate with engineers to convert concepts into manufacturable designs
+ Incorporate feedback from manufacturing, quality, and field teams
+ Ensure drawings meet internal standards and are production-ready
+ Support configure-to-order projects by adapting designs to customer needs
Required Qualifications
+ 2+ years of experience in mechanical design or drafting
+ Strong proficiency in Solid Works or similar 3D CAD software
+ Experience creating detailed fabrication and assembly drawings
+ Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
+ Understanding of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, sheet metal, and assemblies
Preferred Qualifications
+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
+ Experience in automation, material handling, or equipment design
+ Familiarity with ERP systems and BOM management
+
Experience with PDM/PLM systems and revision control
+ Knowledge of design for manufacturability (DFM) principles
Work Environment
+ On-site, office-based role in Maryland Heights, MO
+ Standard schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maryland Heights, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $40.87/hr.
