Bridge Inspection Engineer / Team Leader

Location:

St. Louis Metro Area or O'Fallon, IL or Remote

Responsibilities
  • Serve as inspection team leader or team member on routine bridge and ancillary structure inspections (including sign and lighting structures), primarily in Illinois.
  • Occasionally assist with inspections across the Midwest and Texas.
  • Develop detailed inspection reports and documentation.
  • Apply structural engineering principles to bridge inspection and design projects.
  • Perform load rating calculations and support design efforts.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and timely project delivery.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
  • EIT certification required; PE preferred; SE highly desirable.
  • Engineering technicians with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
  • 2+ years of experience in bridge inspection and/or bridge design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, commitment to quality, and excellent work ethic.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for inspections.
  • Completion of NHI courses for Safety Inspection of In‑Service Bridges and Ancillary Highway Structures (preferred but not required).
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform field inspections.
  • Travel required for site visits and inspections.
