Avionics Maintenance Technician - West Star Aviation

Location:

Perryville, MO 63775, USA. Full Time, On-Site.

Responsibilities
  • Perform general avionics support items on aircraft, including removal and installation of panels and components and repair work.
  • Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems when designated.
  • Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components when designated.
  • Verify aircraft movement and performance of systems.
  • Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling to support operations.
  • Provide customer support in project management, pricing, and customer support roles.
  • Work independently on projects.
  • Communicate effectively in English (speak, write, read).
  • Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; electronics or avionics factory training preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or valid passport (ideal but not mandatory).
Experience Levels
  • Tech I: 0‑2 years in avionics, military avionics, or electrical field; limited knowledge; close supervision required.
  • Tech II
    : 2‑4 years; considerable knowledge; general supervision.
  • Tech III
    : 4‑6 years; full knowledge; limited supervision; able to mentor.
  • Master Technician
    : 6+ years with corporate/business avionics systems; subject matter expert, exclusive knowledge.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Routine walking, bending, squatting or sitting.
  • Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
  • Stand for long periods.
  • Climb ladders and stairs; work in small restricted areas.
Mental Requirements
  • Implement and understand FAA regulations and guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate, and perform functional tests for avionics and instrument systems.
  • Work professionally with others.
Supervision

Work under the supervision of the assigned Avionics Team Leader.

Working Conditions

Hangar environment with extreme temperature variations; outdoor aircraft runs; varied positions in and around aircraft.

Equipment Used
  • Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
  • Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
  • Jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices.
  • Tugs, power carts, and other engine powered equipment.
  • Crimpers, soldering iron, and heat guns.
  • Personal computer and work order prints.
