Avionics Maintenance Technician - West Star Aviation
Location:
Perryville, MO 63775, USA. Full Time, On-Site.
- Perform general avionics support items on aircraft, including removal and installation of panels and components and repair work.
- Troubleshoot and evaluate aircraft systems when designated.
- Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components when designated.
- Verify aircraft movement and performance of systems.
- Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling to support operations.
- Provide customer support in project management, pricing, and customer support roles.
- Work independently on projects.
- Communicate effectively in English (speak, write, read).
- Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
- High school diploma or equivalent; electronics or avionics factory training preferred.
- Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or valid passport (ideal but not mandatory).
- Tech I: 0‑2 years in avionics, military avionics, or electrical field; limited knowledge; close supervision required.
- Tech II
: 2‑4 years; considerable knowledge; general supervision. - Tech III
: 4‑6 years; full knowledge; limited supervision; able to mentor. - Master Technician
: 6+ years with corporate/business avionics systems; subject matter expert, exclusive knowledge.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Routine walking, bending, squatting or sitting.
- Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
- Stand for long periods.
- Climb ladders and stairs; work in small restricted areas.
- Implement and understand FAA regulations and guidelines.
- Troubleshoot, evaluate, and perform functional tests for avionics and instrument systems.
- Work professionally with others.
Work under the supervision of the assigned Avionics Team Leader.
Working ConditionsHangar environment with extreme temperature variations; outdoor aircraft runs; varied positions in and around aircraft.
Equipment Used- Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
- Pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
- Jacks, stands, lifts, and other support devices.
- Tugs, power carts, and other engine powered equipment.
- Crimpers, soldering iron, and heat guns.
- Personal computer and work order prints.
- Full‑time position with shift differential for alternate shifts.
- Semi‑annual discretionary bonus.
