General Summary and

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The Corporate Capital Project Engineer is responsible for managing and executing both large and small scale capital projects from conception to completion. The role oversees all technical and operational aspects to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering expertise with exceptional project management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full project lifecycle, from developing initial scope, budgets, and schedules to overseeing execution and project closeout.
  • Provide engineering support and technical guidance throughout the project, including developing detailed project plans, reviewing design specifications, interpreting blueprints, and resolving technical challenges.
  • Prepare bid packages, evaluate proposals from contractors and vendors, and manage contracts and service agreements.
  • Manage project finances, track costs, and report on budget status to ensure all projects meet financial targets.
  • Ensure all project activities adhere to internal company standards, federal and state regulations, and local ordinances. Champion and enforce safety guidelines on all project sites.
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including internal operations, maintenance, and technical teams, as well as external consultants, contractors, and agencies.
  • Communicate project status, updates, and challenges to senior management and other stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive project documentation for tracking and review.
  • Identify and assess potential project risks, developing and implementing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or a related field)
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience managing plastic processing equipment installations
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred, not required)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred, not required)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proven proficiency with CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
  • Strong computer skills, including experience using ERP systems, and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point
  • Process safety management knowledge
  • Knowledge and experience with resin convey, liquid convey, drying, mixing, casting, extrusion, winding, sheeting, calendaring, thermoforming, and machining
  • Knowledge and experience with plant infrastructure and utilities such as compressors, chillers, cooling towers, and boilers
  • Contract review and negotiation
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, design, and construction practices
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to read and interpret complex plans, specifications, and technical documents
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges
  • Ability to travel, if necessary, 50% – 60%
