About the role
An Aircraft Inspector IV who leads inspection teams, oversees complex inspections, ensures regulatory compliance, develops inspection protocols, and drives process improvement. The role is part of the ICA business area within the ISR, Aviation, and Security sector.
Responsibilities- Lead and oversee complex aircraft inspections.
- Develop and implement inspection protocols.
- Ensure accurate and detailed documentation of findings.
- Address and resolve significant compliance issues.
- Lead training and mentorship programs for junior inspectors.
- Conduct periodic audits of maintenance processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
- Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.
- Advanced knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, equipment and parts.
- Thorough understanding and experience with the practical application of product audit and inspection processes and procedures.
- Basic Microsoft Office Suite skills (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
- Experience in FAA Repair Station operations is preferred and includes familiarity with inspection methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to determine airworthiness after maintenance.
- Understanding of 14 CFR Chapter 1.
- Thorough understanding of civil or government aviation inspection operations and/or FAA Repair Station operations.
- Inspection Authorization (IA) designation.
- Experience with first‑article inspections.
- Prior experience with aircraft modifications.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the U.S. Department of Defense, or U.S. Military.
- Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.
- Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.
- Successfully pass a pre‑deployment medical assessment.
- Willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.
- Current/valid passport and ability to obtain a visa to travel internationally.
- Lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
- Stand, walk, and climb ladders or stairs frequently.
- Work in diverse environmental conditions.
