As a Chemical Lab Technician 4th Period, you will play a critical role in supporting safe, reliable power generation by performing advanced chemical analysis and maintaining essential plant systems. Working in a hands‑on plant operations environment, you’ll support water chemistry, environmental compliance, and fuel analysis on a day shift schedule, with occasional extended hours based on plant needs. This role is ideal for individuals with strong chemistry knowledge who want to apply their expertise in power generation and industrial laboratory operations.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Collect, prepare, and analyze coal, water, environmental, and plant chemical samples to support safe and efficient plant operations
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory and monitoring equipment, including performing preventative maintenance and supporting chemical systems
- Follow standard procedures, document results, maintain a clean work environment, and collaborate with plant teams to support reliability and compliance
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must have completed (C average or higher):
- Twenty semester hours of college-level chemistry
- Four semester hours of college algebra
- Four semester hours of higher-level math or computer science
- Ability to work a standard 8‑hour day shift with flexibility for overtime or extended shifts (up to 16 hours as needed)
- Previous experience in a power generation facility, industrial laboratory, or utility environment
- Experience with water chemistry, environmental sampling, or coal analysis
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation and calibration practices
